a street stencil flip clip

this is really great. what the artist has done is make an animation of a robot walking, which s/he has then made into a number of stencils. after spraying these 'stencil clips' on a variety of locations, s/he's sewn the photographs back together to form an animated sequence. of course, s/he could have just superimposed the animated robot onto any number of backgrounds, thus creating the same effect, but i just love the fact that this (albeit fractured) robot exists in physical space as well as digital time.

this is a really cool example of the move toward distributed narrative - i'd love some feedback from viewers as they stumble upon each part of the sequence.
