the evolution of desktops

my dad, who is the best dad i know, was one of the first computer programmers in the UK. consequently, my brother and i grew up with computers and i have many fond memories of making my mac talk (in that horrible american accent we've become so accustomed to) and using virtual aerosol cans to graffiti virtual walls.

on one occasion, my dad convinced me that if i typed the word apple into the computer, the real green deal would magically appear before my very eyes, and that this wasn't very magical at all - it's just what computers did. this was way before cyberspace and the internet, but he may have even used these words.

it's going to be a long wait for my apple...lucky i've got so many other things to distract me till it arrives.

I appreciate that there is a cultural barrier here but I thought that I should answer in the mother tongue of the Mac otherwise the poor liitle dear may not understand - bless her and love her to bits.Steve and Rocky - are you monitoring this.
