what we saw

i wasn't sure whether to post this vid or not - it's pretty disturbing, and appeals to the voyeur in us all. but i'm a blogger, right? it's my job to spread the word.

Yeah, I asked that question of myself when I watched as well. Looking at a moment in history we've seen so many times from certain angles in completely new footage, with very real and beleivable reactions certainly made me remember what it was like in the first day or two afterward, wondering how the world would change.

I have to say, though, that of all the footage and memories being re-blogging in the last few days, the one thing that really pushed my buttons (probably because I didn't see it in 2001) was Jon Stewart's first speech on The Daily Show after 9/11. Seeing one of your heroes cry on what was national television certainly has impact...
